How To Do Raid Loot Admin

As loot administrator on a raid it is your job to loot mobs and auction those items that are worth spending points on. This document does not attempt to fully describe the loot rules but the main processes of running loot bids and how to handle certain situations will be covered here. You can read the full set of loot rules here.

Loot admin can be handled with a pen and paper or loot can be entered directly into the website but only if the attendance admin is also entering attendance information directly into the website. Often this is not the case and you'll be forced to use pen and paper and enter loot information once the attendance admin has done their thing. To begin with I'll describe the process of how to handle loot auctioning and what information to record. After that I'll explain the raid tools on the website that you'll be using.

Basic Loot Admin

Step 1. Loot stuff. When something drops that is worth auctioning move to step 2. If you're not sure about something then ask an officer or the raid leader.

Step 2. Announce in raid channel and the chat channel for the raid (/rs and /1 or whatever channel is your /joined raid channel) something like, "Tells to me with your bids on <item>, 10 points minimum, first call". Wait for the bids to come in. Re-call this announcement in both /rs and the raid channel until you've done it three times. Bids must be in steps of 5 with a minimum of 10. Do not reveal anyone's bid to anyone else.

Step 3. If you don't have any bids on an item and ONLY if it's NO DROP then you can drop the bidding to 1 to 9 points. If you still get no bids - loot it and destroy it. You should also be aware that a small number of items have a minimum bid.

Step 4. Write down who won the item and how many points they bid on it. Check that they really do have that many points by looking at their points total on the website. You can search for a character on the site by typing their name into the search facility that appears on the left of most pages.

Website Raid Tool Wrangling

You must have a valid website user and be logged in to use the raid admin tools.

1. Usually by the time you're entering loot into the raid tool someone will have already created the new raid entry on the site. So begin by clicking "raids" on the left side of the website.

2. You'll see a list of raids and at the top or near it should be your raid. Click on the name of your raid to view the raid details page.

3. At the bottom of this page are a number of links, one of which is "edit loot". If you don't see this link then it's because you have not been set as loot administrator. Talk to the raid administrator to get that corrected. They can correct it by clicking "edit raid" on this page.

4. When you click "edit loot" you are taken to the Raid Loot page where you can see a form. The form fields are "points", "item" and "winner". This is where you type in the number of points spent, the name of the item and select the winning character from the winner drop-down. There will only be names in this list of the attendance admin has entered attendance information for the raid. If they have not done that you will be unable to enter loot information until they do.

5. When you have entered the loot information for the items that dropped on that raid you can click "Finished" or you can edit or delete items by clicking the edit or delete link next to the item.

6. When you click Finished you are taken back to the raid details page where you should see a "finalise raid" link at the bottom. If all the raid attendance data and loot data has been entered and is correct then click the Finalise raid link to apply all the raid points to the characters and lock the raid entry. If there are mistakes discovered after you have finalised the raid they can still be corrected but you might need the assistance of an officer or a raid administrator.
